Golden Belt Hardcore – What is it?

Golden Belt Hardcore is an idea put together on October 6th 2007 by Alby Bimpson, Sixth Dan Black Belt, and President of the Golden Belt Martial Arts Association.

After discussions and brain storming the idea came together on October 9th 2007 and Golden Belt Hardcore, or GBH, was born, something we believe to be the first of its kind in the World.

Golden Belt Hardcare is Martial Arts used in their true grace, giving respect to all the arts forms, and putting the arts back into Martial Arts.

A contest that involves Boxing, Full Contact Karate, International Kickboxing Rules, Thai Boxing, Jui-Jit-Su-Judo, we believe this is allowing people to understand the roots and development of Martial Arts.

Respecting each martial art individually round by round it allows the contestant to fully demonstrate their skills, and allows the spectator to understand and respect the true warrior. The contestant who has shown himself to be talented in many art forms, the contestant who is the ultimate Martial Artist.

Round order is determined at the start of the fight, by the drawing of balls from a hat.  This ensures that fighters are competant across all areas and prevents the advantage of any one style over another.

Round One – Boxing
Round Two – Full Contact Kickboxing
Round Three – International Rules
Round Four – Thai Boxing
Round Five – Mixed Martial Arts

Contestants theoretically start at round one with a round of pure boxing, each subsequent round adding another string to the contestant’s bow, whether that is the use of kicks, knees or elbows, or throws and holds.

By using these additional tools the contestant demonstrates that he has the ability to use each one, that he is skilled with his punches, his kicks and his elbows. And the format of the competition ensures that the contestant must prove his ability before he is able to progress to the next round.

Run through the Golden Belt Martial Arts Association as a Sanctioning Body, Golden Belt Hardcore will run parallel to the Association with its own set of independent rankings.

Fighters who prove themselves able in all areas will have the chance to go forward for titles and competitions.
